The AFP (Association for Fundraising) Interior BC Chapter is thrilled to announce its upcoming one-day mini conference, scheduled for Friday, May 10th, 2024, from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Sponsored by local philanthropic consultants, Do Gooders and hosted at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna, this event promises to be a transformative experience, featuring an inspiring keynote speaker, engaging breakout sessions, and a groundbreaking local screening of 'Uncharitable' – a compelling documentary shedding light on the need for radical change in charitable practices.
Keynote Speaker and Session Speakers
We are honored to present keynote speaker Jeff Sodowsky from Global Philanthropic, along with esteemed session speakers Vincent Emile Duckworth from ViTreo and AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, Matt Stewart, an Inclusive Leadership Facilitator and TEDx Speaker, and Andrew Greer and Jude Brunt from Purppl. Their expertise and insights are certain to enrich the learning experience for all attendees.
About 'Uncharitable'
Screening for the first time in Kelowna, 'Uncharitable' is a 90-minute documentary led by Dan Pallotta, whose influential TED Talk has sparked dialogue and action among philanthropists worldwide. 'Uncharitable' takes viewers on an emotional journey, challenging conventional notions of charitable giving and advocating for transformative change within the sector. This thought-provoking film is a call to action, urging us to reimagine our approach to philanthropy and empower charities to truly change the world.
Registration Information
Registration is now open for this must-attend event, with tickets available for both the full-day conference and the single screening of 'Uncharitable'. AFP members can secure their spot for $85.00, while general admission is priced at $105 for the full-day conference and $25.00 for the screening of 'Uncharitable'.
